The longing or rueful fondness for the previous. Synonymized by reminiscence and sentiment. Sometimes it creeps in to remind you of an old friend, making you wonder what became of them. Sometimes it tastes only of regret. It is to hold a candle for the past. Aboard a train moving forward fast, all the while screaming “Wait! Go back.”

From time to time, I think of people I used to know. You see, once you love someone, in any form, a friend, relative, lover, pet… that someone seems impossible to forget. Those memories become nostalgic really. Haunting us for a moment by what used to be. The person I was when I was, she. It’s the beautiful moments omitting pain.

A lie blurred only by time.
